Was taken aback when asked to complete application for 4 years service within days of installation. The price was £1500 approx which I thought to be not only excessive but extortionate.
I bought this stairlift from a local provider ( Bradshaw Mobility Centre) and have been very pleased with the service and at a much better price than the "big names" in the business.
Hard sell and pestered with phone calls before making a decision. Price can be negotiated down quite a bit. We decided against Acorn, not because of price or quality but because we were put off by the pushy hard sell attitude.
Acorn was absolutely faultless. Chair lifts should as an option fitted to every new build fitted by Acorn. It would mean pennies on the price of the house.
The stair lift and installation were fine. However we purchased it quickly in order to get my Mother home from hospital. On reflection we should have shopped around as we could have got the same stair lift fitted at less than half the price!! We paid £2495 for a straight Acorn glide 130 .
Unfortunately my Mother passed away without even using it and we have approached Acorn to see if they'd have it back and they have refused ( in the house less than a month) . Obviously we expected to take a re
Tidy and quickly done, but I did have the fitter back due to a minor leak
From initial contact with Acorn on Monday am, Assessors/Planners visit on Tuesday am, to fitting on time on Wednesday morning with a very helpful instruction on how to use - everything left tidy and clean. Just 3 days to transform my wife’s quality of life - a great achievement.
Excellent customer service
